Temperance (my hair) has been EXTRA super duper dry since taking my braids out, so I’ve been on a rampage trying to infuse all types of moisture back into her. I’ve heard really great things about the B.A.S.K. deep treatments so I ordered both this one and the Yam Nectar treatment. Unfortunately, they were out of the Yam Nectar so this had to suffice. And Boy. Did. It. Suffice. I didn’t use any heating mechanisms other than the heat from my scalp and that was good enough. My hair was very moisturized and my curls were VERY happy after this treatment.
If you don’t love products with strong scents or if you don’t like chocolate, this is not for you. It smells like hot cocoa goodness and it’s very creamy. I will say that you may want to smooth it out very well in your hands before distributing it through your hair some of it will slide out of your hands and on to the floor. If you’re like me, it won’t matter much where that bad boy lands because it will get scooped up just that fast.
This product retails for $20.00 w/ flat rate shipping (I made my purchase during Black Friday- Cyber Monday for added savings). I used approximately 1/8th of the product to condition my hair. Keep in mind that if you have lower or higher density hair than I do, you may need to use less or more than I did. Also, if you deep condition your hair while it’s dry, you’ll end up using more product. This means I’ll get about 7 more conditioning sessions out of this container. This equates to $2.50 per deep treatment session total.
