TJ Maxx.com…?

TJ Maxx is one of my favorite stores because I can get a shirt, a pair of shoes, and new shower curtains in the same place. I frequent TJ Maxx, not because I’m always buying something, but they have a quick turnover on their merchandise so I like to take a looky-loo pretty regularly.

Well, if you’re blissfully unaware like me, you probably didn’t know that TJ Maxx now has an online store! I know, I know. Finally! This is the one time those extremely annoying YouTube commercials was actually helpful.

Their online store has womenswear, menswear, handbags, jewelry, home goods, and shoes. I don’t see that they sell children’s clothing but while perusing the site, I noticed that they even have some wedding attire and special occasion dresses.

I just wanted to help spread the word.

I honestly didn’t even realize that Nine West made jeans until I found these cigarette pants. I actually found them on clearance so I couldn’t leave them. It’s actually pretty difficult for me to find jeans that are a good length on me without my having to roll them up. Don’t get me wrong, I like a good rolled up pant, but sometimes I want to be able to wear heels (btw, I seriously could’ve worn these shoes ALL DAY…they were so comfy) and have my jeans stop right at my ankle.

 

 

 

Our sweet friends (with the biggest hearts and the best teeth) gave Jay and I a night out at a very delicious italian restaurant. I don’t eat pasta (that isn’t gluten free) very often, but this place has some seriously yummy food.

I think Jay had the pork loin with a grilled peach (which I ate) and roasted potatoes with rosemary. I had pasta with shrimp and a light lemon sauce. It was glorious. The atmosphere was relaxing as well. Jason was heading out on a work trip so it was the perfect time to get some face time with one another before he left and before I got busier.

 

Sometimes we have to purposefully uncomplicated our lives and just be together. Have (or make) a meal together. Enjoy a nice glass of wine. Go for a walk and watch the sunset.

One of my 500,000 (mild exaggeration) god children graduated from Kindergarten. For some reason, this morning, Jason and I were on serious Jamaican people time. Fortunately, we got there while he was still sitting with his classmates so I could get a photo of him. He was so proud of himself, sitting up there with his piercing blue eyes that was intensified by his blue shirt, holding his diploma. It wouldn’t have been E if he wasn’t wearing a tie with skulls and cross bones.

Seeing E at his graduation made me reminisce a bit. I remembered the age of simple delights like cookies, playing on the playground, loving all of your teachers (I mean, what kindergartener didn’t?), and falling asleep in the car and having your mom carry you in the house. Ah, those were simpler times.

The first time I saw this top, it was actually from a distance.  I thought it was a floral print, but when I got up close, I realized it was more like watercolor. I also really love the pleating on the bottom portion of the top because it adds a bit more structure to it.

On Sunday mornings, I want nothing to do with nothing. Then again, that goes for any morning. I am not a morning person. Although, when I am well rested enough to be up early in the A.M., it feels great. Sometimes. My goals for the morning time are to be on time (if I have somewhere to be) and/or to not kill anyone for talking to me. Especially if I or they haven’t brushed their teeth yet.

Simple outfits can feel very rewarding to me. I look presentable, I don’t look dowdy or unkempt. If I throw on some lipstick, then it looks more planned than it actually is, haha.

I’m a vocalist, so you will rarely find me without a scarf in the cooler months. I use to have quite the collection of scarves, but with the help of a few good friends and The Mission Exchange Thrift + Vintage store, I’ve been able to pare down to the essentials: leopard print, grey, red, pink, zebra print, a few fun colorful ones, and mustard. I’m going to try and find a new leopard print scarf because the one I haggled for $5 in Chinatown is getting a bit grody.

I haven’t had a pair of pointed toe flats in a while. So I was excited about these because they had a little flair going on. I’m not typically this matchy-matchy, but sometimes it just works out for the best. And…I was on time.
